Where we work
Our home is here in Leeds but we travel to the far reaches of the UK to support, Architects, Engineers, Contractors and Building Operators with digital design and construction. See our client list here.
What we do
Whilst Revit training is what we cut our teeth on, our expertise lies with supporting a holistic approach to training, support, standards and templates. See more details on the services we offer here.
BIM Level 2 Information Management is something we pride ourselves on holding a realistic practical knowledge on. We are not just about the theory and have rolled our sleeves up and got our hands dirty to really find out what makes a successful BIM Level 2 Project work. From your EIR’s to your BEP’s, your MIDP’s to your MPDT’s, and your AIM’s to your CAFM’s, we support employers designers, contractors and operators with every aspect of the Role of Information Manager.
How we do it
Whilst we can deliver the basic training courses in Revit and Navisworks, our real expertise lies in the technical aspects of procuring and delivering successful BIM projects.
Our services are a blend of remote online support, at seat mentoring and on-site training courses.
Our consultancy is a process of interaction over a period of time that encourages a shift in how you work, what you deliver, and how you achieve it.
Your problem is our problem and we thrive on discovering solutions.
Beyond the basics
Some of our clients have been using BIM for over a decade and we pride ourselves on client retention. Simply knowing how to drive the software will get you started but understanding how to enhance the design through the BIM process can be a complex journey. Our client retention rate is proof that we continually add value to firms who have already adopted BIM and wish to continually enhance their design experience through BIM technology.
Chris’s thirst for design technology led him to his passion for BIM technology, stumbling across Revit at a small practice in Sheffield back in 1999. Clinging on to the idea that this might some day replace AutoCAD, Chris continued to use Revit, trying to convince firms ‘this is the future’ …sometimes successful, other times falling on def ears.
Having spent 7 years tinkering with Revit, writing company standards and building families, Chris realised there was a demand for UK metric content.
In 2006 Revit Factory was born out of this frustration. The business initially started its life as a web based download portal for Revit Families. The market was young and changed tac many times during these early days. Picking the phone up and speaking with manufacturers about modelling their components in Revit was quite often followed by the words “Rev-what?”.
2006 - today
The business quickly grew into other areas and with Chris’s industry knowledge and technical skills, it evolved into the successful consulting and training firm it is today.
As well as working with Designers, Engineers, Clients, and Developers throughout the UK, Revit Factory has been involved with the development of UK and globaly recognised literature and standards. Some of which are recognisable as the AEC (UK) BIM Standards and the globally renowned Knowledge Smart Assessments.
