This course provides and introduction to the government backed data format COBie. The course starts with an overview of the UK Government initiative and why they are backing COBie. We then take a look at the COBie Plugin within Revit and add information to each of the data drop work-stages. Finally, we review the output in Excel and discuss usage and integrations with 3rd party applications for ’5D Cost Control’ and ’7D Facilities Management’
Who Should Attend
A basic knowledge of Autodesk Revit is required. A basic knowledge of Autodesk Revit schedules is recommended; A basic understanding of Microsoft Excel is beneficial but not essential.
This course is ideally suited for delegates who work on public sector government projects or who work with Clients and Constructors who mandate the use of COBie data as a project deliverable.
After attending this course, users will be able to:
- Explain and discuss the COBie data format
- Install and use the COBie Revit Plugin
- Export the data to Excel and populate the COBie fields
- Understand 3rd party applications to manage COBie data
All training is carried out at your office. Delegates will require laptops or PCs with at least the demo/trial of Autodesk Revit installed as a minmumum requirement. The version of Revit used in the training should be consistent across all delegates computers i.e. Revit 2015 or 2016. If in doubt please ask us.
Training will commence at 10am. A 10 minute comfort break will be shceduled mid morning and mid afternoon. A 1hr lunch break will be scheduled to suit your preferred time. The course will conclude at 5pm. At your request we can change the training times to 9:30 – 4:30 if required.
A conference room or quiet are of the office is required for the training. A projector or screen is required for the training to connect into for teh duration of the training.
